A few of these beautiful stalls are currently being converted into large chicken coops. It has been Maria's dream to own chickens for over 20 years! We are excited to welcome baby chicks in early February of 2025. Stay tuned for fresh eggs!
Here are some pictures of Rocky (sire) Freckles (dam) Their first litter is due 12/27/2024. We are very excited for our first litter from Rocky Mountain Basenjis! We show in AKC conformation and we are excited to start in lure coursing and FastCAT next year! The possibilities are endless with these amazing Basenjis. 20 years ago Maria bought her first Basenji, Robi. He was a finished Champion and that is how she fell in love with the breed and the sport of showing dogs! Soon after, Maria got 2 more females. She proceeded to have 2 litters in the next few years to come after that.
Maria took a break from showing dogs until December of 2023 when she got Rocky and Freckles from an amazing breeder, Teri Cuzzeto. Teri is Takari's Basenjis in Gresham, Oregon. She has tirelessly worked for over 20 years to breed with care, only the healthiest Basenjis, and here we are with Rocky and Freckles, Maria's getting ready to start her adventure with the privilege of helping preserve this ancient breed of dogs!
Texting is the preferred method of communication. Maria will answer phone calls and voicemails either at the beginning or end of day. Texts, phone calls and voicemails will not be tended to any later than 5:30pm or when maria is done grooming and cleaning for the day. No earlier than 8:00am.
